I appreciated the convenience of having laundry facilities located on each floor of the building. My king room felt spacious during my stay, while the outdoor pool and workout room provided me with extra options throughout the day. I also found it easy to log into my personal streaming accounts on the room television which automatically cleared my credentials when I checked out.

Evening toasts by the lobby mural

We attended the daily cultural gathering in the 3rd floor lobby each evening at 5:30, where I learned about the domed mural by artist Mike Medicine Horse Zillioux. After the toast, I walked the 2.5 mile interpretive trail that circles the desert grounds. My room featured a backlit headboard and a granite bar area that held the mini fridge, which gave me space to use my laptop comfortably.

Swimming in the shared pool

I swam in the pool that this hotel shares with the Fairfield Inn next door, while the outside sitting area provided a space to rest. My third floor room looked out over the mountains, and I ate a breakfast burrito in the morning.

I made myself a bowl at the yogurt bar during breakfast each morning, where I chose from the berries and granola provided. I stayed in a ground floor room with a private patio located directly in front of the pool area. This layout allowed me to walk out to the water whenever I wanted during my three nights. I entered the pool area in the center courtyard through the south gate, as the glass gate in the northeast corner remained locked. My room featured a large TV with streaming options and Sleep Number beds, while I grabbed a warm cookie at the front desk upon check-in. Walks by the water at Lake Ocotillo

I walked along the boardwalk around Lake Ocotillo every morning during my stay. After my walk, I cooked eggs on the stove in the full kitchen of my suite. I also spent my afternoons sitting by the outdoor fireplace on the patio, which overlooks the water.
